This is a review site dedicated to Perfect Empowered Drinking Water and MBO. There seems to be a lot of skepticism surrounding this product, including myself, and I wanted to see what others had to say about it. If you have had Perfect Water or know anything about MBO and the processes surrounding it, please comment!! Thanks for stopping by! I can be contacted at info@perfectwaterreviews.com
My son is an IBO and encouraged me to try perfect water. I have chronic pain and very low energy level as a result of rheumatoid arhritis and he felt I might get some relief from this product. I was extremely skeptical that a “bottle of water” could provide any relief. I can’t explain how, but my energy level has increased and my pain has decreased just from drinking 1 bottle a day. I don’t claim to be cured, but I can definitely say I have found something that provides relief and allows me to participate in a more active lifestyle.
hey my basketball coach this weekend gave our team a couple bottles to share of the perfect water before the game and to tell you the truth it does increase your flexibility but in no way did it make me play better. Sure it relaxed my body a bit but is that really a good thing to do in high intensity sports? in my opinion no. so if your doing yoga or whatever and you want to relax and add 4cm to your flexibility then have at ‘er with this water, otherwise dont bother.
Purified ~ That’s a good thing for drinking water. It’s also standard for any drinking water. Nothing particularly special about that.
Remineralized~ They’ve added in some electrolytes. That’s nice. Again, this is nothing special, though. And it’s funny that they make such a big deal about how the water is all carefully filtered and purified to get out all the stuff that’s not pure water and go on and on about how having all the extra chemicals removed makes Perfect Water so wonderful and healthy because it won’t “gunk you up” with additives. . .and then they make an equally big deal about having added impurities to it.
And I like how in one paragraph they proudly declare that this water contains “magnesium, potassium, calcium, and electrolytes too!” Apparently they are unaware that magnesium, potassium and calcium are three of the main electrolyte ions in the body. . .
Ionized~ Ionizing the actual water molecules themselves makes no sense. Water molecules do spontaneously break down into ions such as H+, OH-, H3O+, and OH- every now and then, but it’s only something like one or two out of every billion molecules that do that, and it doesn’t really last long as it’s a reversible process that tends to remain at equilibrium.
What is very common is an ionized solution with water. Basically, that’s what all the water we ever deal with is. All the tap water, rain water, bottled water, ocean water, and all those other waters we ever come in contact with have ions of other chemicals dissolved into them. Pure water doesn’t have those, but then pure water is generally only found in some laboratories. So really, having water being “ionized” can be said to be the normal condition of water. It’s not anything special.
So saying “ionized” is basically this company saying again that they’ve added electrolytes and other minerals to the water. They’re just saying the same thing twice, with different words.
One other possibility is that by saying “ionized water” they mean that the water has been used to ionize other molecules, as water does have the ability to ionize covalent bonds and turn a molecule into two ions (e.g.: HCl + H2O –> H3O+ + OH-). But again, that’s nothing new or special.
Microstructured~
This makes no sense at all to me. Here is their “explanation” of the process:
“Some call it science, others call it pseudo-science. The only thing really certain is that there is no certainty among the scientific community on microstructuring. . . .While we have and will continue to engage in scientific research because we believe in it, we know what our customers tell us which is that they can feel the difference with our water.”
So in other words, even they say that they have no idea what it is. Reassuring.
Above the molecular level, liquid water has no fixed structure. And if you re-structure the molecules, then you get something other than water. The only logical means I can think of to “structure” water is to freeze it. So they’re saying that they’ll sell you ice cubes?
and Oxygen Rich (With proprietary MBO technology)~ Okay. . .water does, of course, already contain oxygen. Pure water would have one-third of its composite atoms being oxygen, although as I’ve already said we’re not likely to see pure water anywhere. Ordinary water with the usual solution of H2O and a scattering of other odd chemicals mixed together could very well have some more oxygen atoms bound up in those extra chemicals. All of these oxygen atoms are going to be bonded, though, since oxygen is very reactive and you basically never find individual oxygen atoms floating around alone in nature (even if you had a tank filled with nothing but oxygen atoms, they’d combine with each other into molecules of paired atoms).
They also claim that heating or cooling the water won’t have any effect on its ability to contain this extra oxygen, which is rather strange seeing as how raising the temperature of a water solution reduces the amount of gases that can be dissolved in it.
So there’s really no way to have free oxygen mixed into water long enough to have it bottled, shipped, and sold, especially seeing as how they claim a shelf life of two years. You have to bind it to other molecules. And bonding oxygen to water molecules gives you hydrogen peroxide, which is not something you want to go around drinking lots of.
A few other little odd things I noticed on their website:
1) Perfect Water will flush out fat. — Any fat that is already a part of your body is not going to be in any position to be “flushed out” by water you drink. Besides, fat isn’t water soluble.
2) “Many of our customers do report that drinking Perfect Empowered Drinking Water™ seems to provide them with more energy than other waters they have tried.” — And yet they say that their water contains no calories. You can’t have it both ways. Granted, they don’t actually come right out and plainly state that their water gives you energy. . .but they subtly make the suggestion that it can. Which seems to me like a rather sneaky way to try to give people the idea that their water has extra properties without actually facing the risk of legal action if it’s found that the water doesn’t do what they hinted.
I have had perfect water several times and I love the feeling it gives you. You just feel more flexible and you have more energy. My sister and her boyfriend we selling it and always had it around the house, me and my family were always wanting some of it. My nephew loves sports and he loves drinking perfect water. It goes down smooth it is different then other water, I like it better. The test they give you to do proves that it does work. I would sugest trying it, I think it is a wonderful product and that everyone should drink it.
I’m still not too familiar with this product, but having done some research on it recently I am not convinced of its claims. I am educated in the field of exercise physiology, strength and conditioning and body composition (nutrition) and this product just doesn’t seem to make sense to me. First of all, it claims that this water can be absorbed by cells much easier because it has been microstructured. Lets say that this is true. In this case, this product would be dangerous to intake due to the fact that it can cause hyponatremia or water intoxication. This will result in more water entering cells which can cause it to expand and burst. If this product is consumed in the same amounts as regular water by athletes during play, then hyponatremia is highly possible. Secondly, when they do the flexibility test to prove the product’s efficacy, I don’t believe that the increase in flexibility post-consumption is due to the product. Muscles have various properties and one of them is extensibility which is the ability to stretch. If the volunteers are pre-stretched before consumption, then this is the reason why they are able to bend much further than the first time. The acute effects of static stretching are both transient and most effective immediately after the stretch. I would be curious to see if the volunteers would be able to stretch the same amount after several hours of sitting or lying down with a constant intake of the product. I did not post this to reject anyone else’s views about the product, I’m simply putting out scientific facts which some people may find helpful. If valid research or new information becomes available about this product, please post it here because I would love to read it.
This product WORKS. I’ve had as many as 8 bottles in a day and I felt great, no adverse affects whatsoever.
The reason that most people feel more energetic by drinking this water (with the exception of Trisha and others) is that the water is more alkaline than acidic which is BETTER FOR THE BODY. Bottle water and tap water are the same, with bottle water being only slight cleaner than tap. But IONIZED water is not the same as the other two (sorry Trisha). IONIZED water has a high level of pH which determines the amount of alkaline there is. The idea is to drink water that is extremely high in pH since our bodies are acidic-disease prone. When you drink IONIZED water, you can better flush out the toxins in your body. Bottle water and tap water have very little alkaline in it…so in my opinion they are the same. They both have more acid, where as IONIZED water does not. And since the human body is acidic due to the foods that we eat, and the fact that our body cant flush out the toxins thoroughly, we loose more calcium and magnesuim quickly which our body is constantly thirsty for. Calcium is viable to rebalance the body from from being too acidic. If your body lapses into a pH balance under 7, you can fall into a coma and die. Our water should have a pH balance of 8.5 or higher for the toxins to flush out thoroughly, something that both tap and regualr store bought bottled waters lacks greatly. Personally, the money spent on this water may as well be spent on an IONIZER. If someone is interested in drinking IONIZED water, then purchase a counter top Ionizer for about $500 and regulate the pH in the water yourself.
So if you feel better since drinking this water, its probably because the water has a higher pH in it due to the IONIZATION process which causes it to be more alkaline.
I’m a big skeptic! I’ve read lots of claims and negative things about this. But I also don’t knock it until I try it. I work for a public water dept. I know what goes in our water and I’m familiar with the chemical process of water.
I noticed a difference right away! Some people over hype this product and expect huge things. My flexibility increased and I didn’t hit muscle fatigue as soon as I expected. Being highly physical and as a runner, this product helps. I don’t sit at a desk or lab all day trying to figure it out. And I know its not in my head. Its the water.
I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Practioner, a martial art that often requires great flexibility, and the other day a training partner of mine brought in a bottle of Perfect Water. He was claiming that it was like a miracle water or something. Needless to say I didn’t believe it, so i took some, tried the tests that learned about and was uterly shocked at how much my flexiblity and balance had increased. with that being the case, my perfomance had also increased. I would definatly recommend this to other people seeking those results.
I recently purchased this product and my family are very angry and disappointed. They were unclear of its content . I purchased this product with the goal of helping my parents gain ” good balance, and drink clean and healthy water.” But today my mother was admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure. They try to analyze what new regimen on her diet that triggered it since she’s never been sick…and it was the high sodium in this product. No wonder when my dad drank a bottle the first day he called and complained ” I was dizzy after drinking the bottled water”. I had such confidence in this “Perfect Water ” per my friends recommendation. Please consult your physician prior purchase. I am a nurse and it is so upsetting that my parent got sick due to this.
I just had some of this today and did the balance test and was amazed at the results. It also increased my energy noticeably.
It’s funny that the only people that have commented negatively here are the ones that haven’t even tried it. I was very skeptical at first too but I now know that this water certainly does work
There are no credible peer-reviewed studies proving that this does what some of the representatives claims that it can do. There are also no scientific explanations given by anyone (at least that I know of) for what many claim it can do.
How does it improve flexibility? does it some how improve the elasticity of fascia, the muscles, the tendons, etc. HOW? No explanation given
How does it improve balance? does it somehow quickly correct any malfunctions of the vestibular organs? HOW? No explanation given
How does it provide increased energy beyond what regular water and oxygen do? Does it somehow make the energy pathways more effecient? Does it increase available glycogen? HOW? again no explanation.
There are no physiological explanations given for any of these claims. NONE!!!
I buy ultra filtered water at 38 cents a gallon.
Trisha:

Now, I’m no expert so some of my ideas may be wrong, but I’ll explain it the way I’ve understood it.
In all honesty, the “oxygen rich” thing certainly had me puzzled, so I looked into it (as any sensible person should).
I looked on their FAQ and here’s what they said: (From their website, http://www.drinkperfectwater.com/, go to the FAQ and look for “Why is there Sodium in Perfect Empowered Drinking Water?”)
“The reason we put a small amount of Sodium in Perfect Water is part of our proprietary Oxygen process. The quest for stabilized oxygen goes back as far as 75 years ago. This company discovered a way to attach oxygen molecules to Sodium and stabilize them in liquid (water) over 15 years ago. Without changing the molecular structure of the water, we are able to add oxygen molecules. This is only one small part of our proprietary MBO process.”
So yes, while H2O obviously has Oxygen in it, what they’re saying is they found a way to stabilize an aqueous NaO molecule. In other words, they married a Sodium to an Oxygen and then introduced this couple to the water.
As Trisha pointed out, “other odd chemicals mixed together could very well have some more oxygen atoms bound up in those extra chemicals.” So by her own admission this is feasible, and you are in fact drinking Water with additional, seperate, Oxygen molecules that have no mingling with the H2O, and therefore do not create any toxic combinations (namely hydrogen peroxide).
Something I’m currently looking into is “Why?” As in, why is it good to have extra Oxygen? And as a buddy subject, what are the potential dangers of having it?
Hope this helps.
I have been using this water for over 1 year now. I have noticed that when I drink it before my games and at half-time if totatly takes all the tiredness out of my muscles. I know this is not in my head as I don’t even think about what I’m drinking as I am listening to my coaches during this time. I have notices when I am out and have to drink regular water my muscles tighten up quicker, I lose steam quicker my balance and flexibility isn’t as good along with my jumping. As a high school athlete I highly recommend this water. Several of my team-mates use this product and we all feel the same. It is worth the money.
I’m a long-tme strength athlete and a high school football coach. Powerlifters and football teams look for every competitive edge. I’ve got a lifting buddy who swears by this product, so I bought four cases for our high school volleyball team who swept through their district and regional matches before finishing third in the state of Colorado. They seemed to think that there is something to Perfect Water. I’m testing a case out for myself. I don’t particularly like the taste, and I’m not fond of plastic containers, but there might be something behind their claims. Terms like “proprietary process” make me skeptical, so I’m trying the product while attempting to overcome the placebo effect.
Randy Couture and his whole crew were drinking Perfect Water throughout his last UFC fight. If it is good enough for him, it is good enough for me.
I think the best way to judge whether or not this product is for you is to try it. There is more science into it than any other water, but it is still water, and supposedly the most pure one on the market. That is the most important thing to me since there have been reports of pharmaceuticals being found in our drinking water. I’ve also read that there are clinical studies being done on this product to prove how it makes changes in the body which is pretty expensive to do. That, along with the approval of the National Science Foundation is all the credibility I need.
How much is a placebo effect worth to you if it gets rid of back pain or makes you more flexible? I’d pay around $2 a bottle for “Michael’s Secret Stuff” if the makers of Space Jam sold it on the markets. It worked for the Tune Squad!
I am an investment specialist and scheduled an appointment with some folks who sell this water. They told me about the business which is interesting but I really was particularly amazed by this water. They told me about these test they do and increased performance. Being curious I said lets try this right now. So they pulled out a regular bathroom scale, older model, not digital. I sat at the table with my forarms resting on the edge. I squeezed the scale as hard as possible in that position several times maxing out at 130 lbs of pressure after several attempts. I squeezed as hard as possible with my arms even shaking. I drank some of the water and waited about 5 minutes and then repeated the test. In the same exact position I squeezed sternly and remarkably on my first attempt I reached 145lbs of pressure, no joke. I tried again several times with every incident in the 140’s. This was truly amazing, so you can say I am no longer a skeptic and as a sales person I am considering joining this company as they seem to have a superior product to sell.
